encouraging through words
Receiving this message made me reflect on how there comes a time where we all feel that we've lost our purpose or that we never had one to begin. This is not true. It is important to know that you are not the only one feeling this way, feeling far from the world as if you're not an important piece but you are. We feed ourselves negative thoughts daily and it is so hard to catch and stop ourselves from letting these horrid thoughts reach our heart and our value of ourselves. Think about this, there were not hundreds or thousands of possibilities but millions of different possibilities that could have occurred when you were formed in your mother's womb, it could have been millions of different 'people' but YOU were chosen, you won the 'race'. It is no coincidence that you are alive, you came to life on this earth. You were given a purpose, that is why your being is so important to this world. You don't know the impact you have on people, whether it's your presence noticed by strangers on the street, or close contact with friends. You matter. There is no need for you to search for approval, you've been given approval from the moment you were born. You are not simply a miracle that occurred, you are a gift chosen by (depending on your beliefs) God(s) or the universe. This means that you have a purpose, you were given talents to achieve that purpose. I don't believe anyone is talentless, I believe that sometimes we are watching too close the gifts of others that we diminish the worth of our own. It is important to remember that not everyone's talent is the same, if you compare your talents to those of others, you will never be able to use them to their full potential. Maybe you haven't found your talent yet? Try everything out, see what inquires you and what you see yourself thriving in. The need for validation from others is so very common, it is an aspect of being human but I am here to tell you that it is impossible to live a free life if you are chained to the opinions others have on you. It is a difficult thing to grasp, the fact that not everyone is going to love and appreciate you, but if you let that lead the directions you take in your life, you will live a prisoned life. Break these chains now, by understanding that you are loved so very much and you have no right not to love yourself. It's easy to say, harder to do, I know. All of us battle with this daily, but do not give up and surrender, continue fighting. I recommend you follow me and say these next few affirmations; I am strong, I am important, I am chosen, I am loved, my talents are different to other's talents but nether the less important, I have an impact.
'I've been feeling useless and numb. I always fell like I need to prove myself or else I'm nothing. I feel like I need validation and acknowledgment to know that I am still remembered and not talentless or worthless. Yet even with the support I have, I feel like it is never enough. I feel like I need to hear it from someone who doesn't know me in order to feel loved' - Anonymous
' Recently I have felt confused, angry, and sad. I am upset about not being able to go home for the summer. My home that I've gone to for sixteen years, a place I can only see once a year and that opportunity has been ripped away from me. I am going through so many changes, the world is; with this surreal pandemic. I feel pressured and drained with all these important decisions I have to make; moving countries either with or my family. All of this has drained me mentally. I am trying to remain as positive as possible.'
Confusion and anger are really common and can me really draining emotions, you can find yourself being angry about something for days, weeks, months and even years this ruins so much time and takes up so much energy on something that only impacts you if you let it. In this situation, it is completely normal to feel lost and angry about the fact this is happening to you. You may think to yourself 'why is this happening to me and not somebody else' but I am a firm believer that you are only given the battles that you can take and if this is a battle you are facing, you've been given it because you are strong enough to take it and learn from it. Now if you're asking yourself "why was I even given a battle in the first place' I have the answer, everything that you go through shapes who you are, you may not know why you're going through a difficult season now but you soon will. The most important thing to remember is that you control how you feel and react to something, if you want to learn and grow from this it comes with its difficulties. Life is a series of moments; good and bad ones but the way that your life turns out is up to your mindset and how you view a situation you've been put in. It's so important to remain positive in dark times, trust me I have been there before and couldn't discuss anything with anyone, so I turned to God. I am not saying or forcing you to believe in something you don't but maybe praying is what will help, it will keep calm through the storm, that is what helped me. Now, if you don't want to try that, I recommend writing anything that stresses you, confuses you, or anger's you and destroys the paper you've written it on. Then, write a few things that make you happy and that you're grateful for, this will help you see the more positive approach. Please know that you are strong and you can get through anything if you put your mind to it and stay calm, collected and positive. Be a shining light in the dark.
